Holy One Golf Tournament:  May 30, 2009(fund raiser)  A four-man scramble tournament that always turns out golfers of all abilities.  The tournament, usually is held in April or ealy May,  is not only one of Epiphany's best fund raisers but one of the most enjoyable.

UTO Ingathering (United Thank Offering):   May 10, 2009 UTO is organized annually in parishes by a national UTO committee working through diocesan UTO Coordinators.  Funds raised by the UTO at the parish level are consolidated into a national fund that is dispersed in grants to continue, support, and strengthen the mission and ministry of the church throughout the world.

Year end Cookout and party.  May 13, 2009 School lets out in May so we end our Wednesday night dinner and programs.  To help the kids celebrate the end of school, we have a special cookout with inflatable slides, a dunking booth, games and a cake walk.

4th of July Celebration:    On the 4th of July, we close off our parking lot, cook hamburgers and hot dogs and sit in the parking lot to watch the fireworks on the lake.

 

Vacation Bible School:  (July )Held in the middle of the summer, this three day event is fun and educational for children ages three through 5th grade.

 Back to School Swim Party:  (July) Held the last of July, we rent the swimming pool at the Guntersville Recreation Center in the evening and swim, eat pizza and have a good time.  Although it is mostly a last hoo rah for the kids before going back to school, it is enjoyed by adults also. 

Parish Retreat:  August 7- 9 2009
A time for parishioners to gather at Camp McDowell and just have fun.  There is swimming, canoing, hiking or just sit in the rocking chair on the porch of your cabin.

Rally Day:  September ??, 2009 Usually held the second Sunday of September, Rally Day kicks off the beginning of Sunday School and Wednesday night Service and programs.  We recognize and bless those who will be teaching Sunday School and also those who participate in various Church ministries.

 

 Bring a Friend Sunday:  September ??, 2009  Held the Sunday after Rally Day, we welcome to our church invited guests of parishioners and newcomers who are interested in finding out more about Church of the Epiphany.  Lunch is served after the 10:30am service and the people from the different ministries are available to answer any questions guests may have.


Blessing of the Animals: October 4, 2009, 2:00 pm
Each year on the Saturday or Sunday closest to St. Francis of Assisi Day, we invite the community to bring their pets and farm animals to be blessed on the front lawn.  A short service is held during which Father Bill and Mother Jennifer bless each animal individually.

Parish Elections:  October ??, 2009  Parishioners meet for lunch after the 10:30 am service and elect new members to the Vestry and delegates to attend the Diocesan Convention. NO 8AM SERVICE


Annual Live Auction:  November ???, 2009 6:00 pm   Parishioners and friends of Epiphany donate elegant and expensive items, services and vacation packages to raise money for the general fund.  Serving of heavy hors d'oeuvres and Episcopal beverages begin at 6:00 p.m. while you pre-view auction items and the auction begins at 6:30 p.m. 

Outreach In-gathering:   (November 22, 2009) The Outreach Committee collects food and personal items to be distributed to those in the community who are in need.

Holiday Bazaar:  (???????, 2009) The ECW invites artists to set up arts and crafts tables.  They also have a while elephant sale, silent auction and serve lunch.  This is a fun day to browse for christmas gifts and ornamets.

Christmas Pageant:  December 20, 2009  Every year on the Sunday before Christmas, during the 10:30am service, the children of the parish participate in a pageant enacting Mary and Joseph arriving in Jerusalem for the birth of the baby Jesus. 

Bishop's Visit and Confirmation: January 3, 2010   Bishop Henry Parsley will make his annual visit to Epiphany, on the day of "The Epiphany" to confirm new parishioners and have lunch after the 10:30 am service.

Parish Business Meeting: January , 2010  The members of the parish meet, usually the third week of January, to vote on the yearly budget and discuss the needs of the church.

Summer in Winter Seafood Festival:  January 26, 2009(fund raiser) Held in late January or early February we meet to enjoy all the shrimp, potatoes and corn that one can possibly eat.  Dress in your most outrageous summer outfit and enjoy this fund raiser and time for fellowship.

Vestry Retreat: February 13 - 15, 2009   The Vestry, the governing body of the parish, spends a working weekend at Camp McDowell to make the decisions that will effect the parish for the coming year.


Diocesan Convention: February 19 - 21, 2009 Delegates, elected by the parish, are sent to the convention to vote on matters that effect the Diocese of Alabama.

 Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Mardi Gras February 24, 2009  5:30pm:  Each year, on the evening before Ash Wednesday, the Sr. EYC serve pancakes, bacon, sausage and biscuits and decorate for Mardi Gras.  It is traditional to use up butter, eggs and flour to get ready for the season of Lent.

 

Easter Egg Hunt: , 2010  An Easter egg hunt is held for children up to sixth grade at 11am the Saturday before Easter Day.  There is always a prize for the children who find the elusive golden eggs.  The hunt is followed by lunch for all.

Annual Spring Yard Sale:  (fund raiser) Our "Trash to Treasure" sale is held in late April or early May in the parish hall.  Families combine from throughout the church to sell their unneeded treasures to help raise funds for projects of the Church.

Spring Outreach In-gathering:  , 2010 Our Outreach Committee sponsors an in-gathering of food, personal supplies and school supplies that are distributed to various organizations to be handed out to those in need.
