Have Your Car Blessed

November 2 is the last blessing of the cars. We will bless VWs, Nissans and any car that missed the previous blessings. The blessing of the Chevys on August 3, GMC cars on September 7 and Toyotas and Hondas on October 5 were all well attended.
We invite you to bring their car or truck to the church at the 10:30 service. Park your vehicle in the public lot directly across from the main doors of the church in a special spot that will be provided. Immediately after church we will walk over to the parking lot for the blessing. Everyone is invited to a coffee hour immediately after the blessing. We will give a small gift for participating in the blessing and there will be a drawing for a special token.
Our automobile is often our most trusted and loved possession. Young people get that cherished driving license when they turn sixteen and these days, it sometimes comes with a car of their own or driving privileges of the family car. So why not bless those precious cars of ours. We can pray that they may last another mile. We can pray that our next vehicle might be electric, a hybrid, or even hydrogen powered. We can give thanks for the freedom and reliability they offer us. We can pray that the car will provide for the safety of each driver and passenger. And lastly, when it becomes time for our wonderful car to end its blessed time with us, we can pray for them to go peacefully to car heaven with the fervent hope that they will be reincarnated into a shiny 2009 model.
